Opening of School Grades 9 - 12

August 2012

Dear Upper School Parents and Students,

We hope everyone has enjoyed a relaxing summer.  We are fast approaching the first day of school for 2012-2013.  The first day of school always brings with it the excitement of a fresh start. Seniors will have one last opportunity to hone skills before college and for freshmen it represents the beginning of the next chapter of your educational experience. For all students and even teachers and staff it brings with it the promise of new challenges and experiences.

It has been a very busy summer on campus with classrooms being painted, landscaping work, and many other projects that will enhance our campus. The campus has been filled with students participating in summer school classes, athletic camps and other summer camp activities. Teachers have attended workshops both at school, throughout the country and indeed the world and have been planning what we believe will be a great year. We are very excited about the new school year and hope that it will be a year to remember for you.  

First Day of School - The first day of school for Upper School will begin Monday, August 13 at 7:45 a.m. Students should report to their A block class and should be in full dress uniform (handbook, p. 13) for our opening Church service at St. Paul's Church. In addition, the cafeteria will be open and the lunch program will operate on a regular schedule. The school day ends at 2:58 for 9th through 12th grades.
