Brandon Garrett

Boys Varsity Coach

Coach Brandon “Gee” Garrett will enter his first season as Varsity Head Coach of the Saints. Prior to this season Coach Gee has spent 8 years as coach. During this span he spent 4 years as a varsity assistant at Baker High School; JV head coach and varsity assistant for 3 years at St. Paul’s. This past season Coach Gee served as the varsity head coach at Cottage Hill Christian Academy. In his inaugural season as a varsity head coach he led the Warriors to a 17-7 record and a berth in the Class 2A Southwest Regionals.

Coach Gee, from Gadsden, AL, is married to LaTonya Garrett. They have 3 beautiful daughters Cydney(11), Jordyn(7), and Kaycee(5).

Amanda Niehoff

Girls Varsity Coach

Coach Amanda Niehoff will begin her 4th year as Head Coach of the Lady Saints basketball program, and 10th year overall in her career. Niehoff’s Lady Saints finished the 2017-2018 campaign with a 20-8 record including an appearance in the Sub-Regional playoffs; the best finish for the program in almost a decade.

Prior to coaching at St. Paul’s Episcopal School, Niehoff registered 7 straight Area Championships, appeared in 5 straight regional finals, and coached one final four semi-final game in Birmingham as an assistant at UMS-Wright.

Niehoff played collegiate basketball under Rick Pietri at the University of South Alabama from 2005-2008. As a freshman at Carl Albert State College, in Poteau, Oklahoma, Niehoff ranked 7th in the Nation in 3-point percentage.

Coach Niehoff is married to Tyler Niehoff (March 2012). They have a little boy, James-3, and currently reside in Daphne, AL.

Season Highlights

  • The Varsity Boys Basketball Team finished 12-13
  • The program participated in the NBA Court of Dreams in New Orleans. Players were able to play a high school game in an NBA arena. St. Paul’s vs. Vancleave was held in New Orleans - home of the New Orleans Pelicans. Afterwards the players and coaches were able to attend an NBA game. It was a great experience for our players!
  • The Varsity Girls Basketball Team finished 12-12 with victories over Trinity Presbyterian, St. James, MGM, Bayside, Satsuma, Leflore and UMS-Wright.
  • The Saints also had the opportunity to play in the Pelican’s Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans where both girls and boys programs were victorious against Vancleave High School out of Mississippi.
