  • Misbo Digital Library Collection: Powered by OverDrive School Digital Library service, we now have the ability to offer our students and staff a larger, customizable collection of eBooks, audiobooks and streaming video on a single platform. OverDrive is compatible with nearly every major device and operating system. To access the collection, select the St. Paul's Library appropriate to your grade level above then log in using your faculty/student ID number as both the username and password.

Online Resources:

  • Accelerated Reader: Accelerated Reader (AR) is a computer program that helps monitor and encourage independent reading. AR quizzes are available on and off-campus to students in grades 3-6.

  • Alabama Mosaic: Alabama Mosaic is a repository of digital materials on Alabama's history, culture, places, and people. No password required.

  • Alabama Virtual Library (AVL): The Alabama Virtual Library provides all students, teachers, and citizens of the State of Alabama with online access to essential library and information resources. It is primarily a group of online databases that have magazine, journal, and newspaper articles for research. No password required when accessed within the state of Alabama.

  • American History: American History database containing documents, images, and maps from 1350 to present day. Auto authenticated on campus; off campus, St. Paul’s database username and password is required.

  • Bloom's Literature: Bloom's Literature features hundreds of essays examining the lives and works of great writers throughout history and the world, as well as thousands of critical articles by noted scholars. Auto-authenticates on campus; off campus, St. Paul’s database username and password is required.

  • BrainPOP: BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr have animated, curriculum-based content that supports educators and engages students. Hundreds of topics within Science, Social Studies, English, Math, Technology, Arts & Music and Health are all brought to life through short, animated movies and related interactive quizzes and features. The school has a site and home license. Credentials for access may be obtained from your teacher.

  • Country Reports: Country Reports provides up to the minute information about countries around the world. From food and customs to current statistics, and current events and maps, each country is presented in an easy to use format. Auto-authenticated access on campus; off campus, St. Paul’s database username and password is required.

  • CountryWatch:  CountryWatch Premium provides country specific information and news on 195 countries including demographic, political, economic, business, cultural and environmental information, and the CountryWireTM, which provides daily news coverage for every country in the world.  Auto-authenticated access on campus; off campus, St. Paul’s database username and password is required.

  • Discovery Education: Our annual subscription to Discover Education Streaming Plus provides content-rich digital resources for all ages and disciplines. Students in grades 5-12 have individual accounts and can obtain credentials from their teachers or division library.

  • EasyBib: Free site used to generate citations for a bibliography. 

  • Encyclopedia of Alabama: This online resource contains information on Alabama history, culture, geography, and natural environment. No password required.

  • General Encyclopedias: Scholastic's Go! makes Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia and Encyclopedia Americana available through a unified search engine. Auto-authenticated access on campus; off campus, St. Paul’s database username and password is required.

  • Gods, Goddesses & Mythology: A unique, far-reaching resource that explores prehistoric and classical gods and goddesses as well as contemporary myths found in literature and popular culture.

  • Maps101: Maps101.com is a web-based interactive database of teacher lesson plans, geography tools, online learning games, dynamic interactive map modules and over 4,000 viewable and printable history, thematic, reference, outline, current events and animated maps. Auto-authenticated access on campus; off campus, St. Paul’s database username and password is required.

  • Newsela: Newsela publishes daily news articles from leading news sources. Each article has been rewritten in both Spanish and English to accommodate multiple reading levels for grades 2-12.

  • Star Reading: Star Reading is available to students in grades 3-6. This online computer based assessment program measures students reading skills.

  • TumbleBook Library: Online collection of animated, talking, picture books as well as ebooks, graphic novels, videos and games. Credentials are needed for off-campus access.

  • Turnitin.com: Turnitin.com is a subscription based service for preventing plagiarism and promoting original ideas. Students submit written essays and powerpoint assignments to assess originality. Please see your teacher for a class code.

  • TypingPal: TypingPal is a web-based program used to teach keyboarding skills. Students in grades 3-7 have an account and may access the lessons both on and off campus. Accounts for all other students and teachers are made upon request.

  • World Geography: World Geography provides authoritative content and online tools that develop students’ global literacy, focusing on the geographic, political, social, economic, and cultural forces. Auto-authenticated access on campus; off campus, St. Paul’s database username and password is required.

  • World History: Ancient & Medieval: Database containing documents, images and maps from Prehistoric Times to 1500 A.D. Auto-authenticated access on campus; off campus, St. Paul’s database username and password is required.

  • World History: Modern Era: Database containing documents, images and maps from The Renaissance to today. Auto-authenticated access on campus; off campus, St. Paul’s database username and password is required.
