Chad Harrelson

Boys Varsity
Head Coach

Coach Harrelson is in his thirteenth season as the varsity boys soccer coach and Civics teacher at St. Paul’s. In his first twelve seasons the Saints compiled a record of 203 W-90 L-30 T. The team has reached the Final Four six of the past eight seasons and placed second in the state in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015. Coach Harrelson hold a NSCAA Advanced National License, USSF D License, and a USYSA National Youth License. He has served as an Alabama Olympic Development coach and has coached the AHSAA South All-Star team three times. Along with his duties as varsity boys coach he has coached varsity girls soccer, middle school boys soccer, middle school girls basketball and he currently serves as the coordinator of intramural and club soccer opportunities for grades K-6th. Off campus he holds the position of Executive Director of the Mobile United Soccer Club and also coaches the MUFC 04 girls team. Coach Harrelson is married to Katherine Kinsaul Harrelson and has three children; Joshua (SPS 2012), Noah (SPS 2017) and Emma (SPS 2023).

Ashley Johnson

Girls Varsity
Head Coach

Coach Johnson will enter her first season as Varsity Head Coach of the Saints. Prior to this season Coach Johnson has spent several years as a coach. During this span, she spent time coaching the JV team at the University of Mobile, a club soccer team for the Lonestars in Austin, Texas, and the University of Texas soccer camps. Along with her duties of coaching the varsity girls, Johnson teaches pre-algebra and algebra. Coach Johnson is married to Greg Johnson and has two children: Bradley, 3 and Molley, 1.

Varsity Boys
  • Won the AHSAA State 6A State Champions (1st in school history)
  • Cole Little named Mobile County Player of the year, Sunshine Rotary Player of the Year, and 1st Team Super All-State Team
  • Trey Parker named to 2nd Team Super All-State Team
  • Grayson Myles named to 6A All-State Team
  • Landon Clarke and Turner Boulo named Honorable Mention All-State
Varsity Girls
  • Won sectionals and area playoffs and made it to the state Final Four playoffs, where they lost in the semi-finals
  • Grace Rockwell, Alexis Drum, Leah Robinson, Madeline Arledge, Caroline Seale, Kate Strickland, and Amelia Campbell were named to the All County team
  • Caroline Seale and Alexis Drum were named to the Battle of the Bay All-Star team
  • Britney Sharpe was named to the North-South All-Stars
