St. Paul’s Episcopal School has been wireless since ‘99 and was the first school in Mobile to adopt a one-to-one laptop program. As for great teachers, they’ve been here since day one.
At St. Paul's Episcopal School we believe that creativity is thinking new things and innovation is doing new things. Technology allows our students and teachers to do both. Our students are rarely passive in their learning; they learn by "doing," both inside and outside of the classroom. They are artists, writers, scientists, athletes, and mathematicians who seriously enjoy using their emerging skills to solve, create, compute, and compete to be the best they can be. St. Paul's is a leader in the adoption of technology to enhance the classroom learning environment. From its start in the early eighties with a ten-station lab, the department has developed a campus-wide network connecting all classrooms.
St. Paul's implementation of technology assures that our teachers are no longer bound by a fixed curriculum found in a single textbook. The use of improved and up to the minute materials encourages a more innovative and creative environment for both teachers and students. As a community we continually work to develop new lessons and instructional strategies which take advantage of technology and provide learning experiences not available in the traditional classroom.
