Daniel Gill = Mobile Optimist Club Runner of the Week
Junior Daniel Gill was named the Mobile Optimist Club's 6A-7A Runner of the Week for his performance at the Daphne Invitational on September 30. At that meet, Daniel finished 6th overall in a field of more than 180 runners. His time of 15:59.70 was a new personal best for 5km, and vaulted him to 8th place all-time in St. Paul's school history.
But don't let his athleticism fool you - Daniel is no dumb jock. He is also taking 4 AP classes and has made Headmaster's List every single quarter of his high school career. In both his freshman and sophomore years he won both the Math and History awards - showing that both sides of his brain are firing on all cylinders. He also won the Honors Chemistry award as a sophomore. Daniel was All County in cross country in 2022. He was the team's Most Improved runner in 2021. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys making YouTube videos, hanging out with friends, eating sushi, and getting creative haircuts.
