Senior Spotlight: Grace Swain
Today’s Senior Spotlight is Grace Swain. Grace is not only one of the top runners on the cross country team, she’s also one of the top players on the varsity tennis team. This year, she stepped into the role of team chaplain for the cross country team. In that capacity, she prepares devotionals for the team that get them ready for each week.
The summers before both her junior and senior seasons, Grace has led the team in summer mileage. It’s been that hard work in the off season that’s allowed Grace to be successful in both of her sports.
Grace is also an intense competitor. Whether on the tennis court or on the cross country course, when she gets into a close battle with someone, she does not back down. That’s brought an intensity to our team that is much needed.
As a leader though, she’s shown an ability to have compassion. When one of her teammates has a bad race, she’s the first one there to encourage them.
