Get There First With The Most

The Saints' mens' varsity cross country team got up to the front early, packed up, and never let up at the Daphne Invitational.  As a result, they won the meet against 21 of the best teams and runners in Mobile and Baldwin counties.  The meet took place at Historic Blakeley State Park in Daphne, AL on Saturday September 30.
The Saints put 6 runners in the first 15 places of the race (which had over 180 runners): junior Daniel Gill (6th place), junior Estan Wrights (9th), junior Wesley Robinson (11th), senior Philip Gill (12th), senior Haydn Sayner Oubre (14th), freshman William Gill (15th).

7 of the 8 runners they had in the race had new lifetime personal bests in the 5000m. The following people achieved their first race ever under key landmarks for the 5000 meter distance:

* Daniel Gill = first time under 16:00 
* Wesley Robinson and Philip Gill = first time under 17:00
* Hollis Martin = first time under 18:00
* Michael Morgan = first time under 20:00

The following members of the varsity boys team received weekly team awards for the Daphne Invitational:

Most Improved = Hollis Martin and Wesley Robinson

"7 Award" for the most aggressive varsity runner = Wesley Robinson

"Bringing Home The Bacon Award" for the fastest finishing kick on the team = Estan Wrights
